Snowshoe Walks

Rangers head out daily to explore Yellowstone's winter wonderland. Grab some snowshoes for the ranger led Snowshoe Walks each winter. Don't miss this chance to enjoy Yellowstone while it is still, silent and wintery white.

Overview: The two to three hour walks depart from both Mammoth's Albright Visitor Center and the West Yellowstone Visitor Center several days a week throughout the winter season. you simply do not want to miss this ranger led walk into Yellowstone during such a peaceful season. You may just see a fox hunting, a bison dozing or creatures at play.

When: Walks are schedule during the winter season of mid December to mid March. Days and times vary by location.

Where: The Mammoth Albright Visitor Center and the West Yellowstone visitor Center

Fees: These walks are free. but each participant needs to bring their own snow shoes.

Details: Snow shoes can be rented nearby in either Mammoth or West Yellowstone.  Each tour will last between 2 and 3 hours.  Bring a snack, water, sunscreen and layer your clothes.
