Fun Outside Yellowstone's Northeast Entrance

Silver Gate and Cooke City Montana (located just outside the gate) are open for adventure through Yellowstone National Park from the West this winter.

Experiencing warm local hospitality, alpine lakes, hiking, horseback & ATV riding, snowmobiling, backcountry and X-C skiing, snowshoeing, fishing & wildlife in the Lamar Valley, are only a few of the hallmarks of the communities of Silver Gate & Cooke City (just outside the Northeast entrance). In summer months, easily access both towns via the Chief Joseph Scenic Byway (Wyoming Hwy 296), which intersects Wyoming Hwy 120 between Cody WY and Billings/Laurel MT, as well as US Hwy 212, legendarily known as the 'Beartooth Scenic Highway" out of Red Lodge, MT.  From the west, follow the road north of Tower Junction inside Yellowstone Park to get to the Northeast Entrance.

In addition to amazing outdoor fun, you'll enjoy comfortable accommodations, great beverage, dining and food options, and vehicle-related services.  Both routes are hallmarks of American road-building ingenuity. Come be awe-inspired by the majestic peaks around Cooke City and Silver Gate.
