Jackson Hole Resorts

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort has over 2,500 acres of inbounds terrain with unlimited amounts of backcountry access. Established nearly 40 years ago, this famed ski area has become a destination ski location for people from all over the world. All skiers can enjoy the 4,139 feet of vertical rise and the 459 inches of average snowfall each season.

    Adult lift tickets range from $65 to $105 dependent on season.
  • Location
    Distance from south entrance of Yellowstone National Park – 75 miles. 

Snow King Mountain Resort
Located directly in the town of Jackson, Wyoming, Snow King Ski Area has been providing excellent family skiing fun for the past 70 years. The area also offers night skiing and snow tubing.

    From the first part of December to the end of March.
  • Price Range
    Tickets are $42 for adult full day.
  • Location
    Distance from south entrance of Yellowstone National Park – 62 miles

Big Sky Resorts

Big Sky Resort
Big Sky Ski Resort has over 3,800 of skiable acres, and 4,350-foot vertical rise. Short lift lines and moderate temperatures make this the place for enjoyable skiing.

  • Season
    First the first part of December to the end of March.
  • Price Range
    Tickets are $89 for adult full day. $103 for the Biggest Skiing in America (combo Moonlight Basin ticket).
  • Location
    Distance from the west entrance of Yellowstone National Park – 50 miles

Moonlight Basin
Moonlight shares the northeast ridge of Lone Peak with Big Sky Resort. With 1,900 acres of skiing, this resort is smaller than Big Sky but just as fun.

  • Season
    Open from December through the end of March.
  • Price Range
    Tickets are $64 for adults. Or by the Biggest Skiing in America ticket for $103 and ski at both Moonlight and Big Sky.
  • Location
    50 miles from the West Entrance to Yellowstone (just a little further up the hill from Big Sky Resort).

Bozeman Resorts

Bridger Bowl Ski Area
One of the most inexpensive ski areas around packs quite the punch. Enjoy everything from groomers to easily accessible backcountry couloirs.

  • Season
    Open from early December to early April.
  • Price Range
    Adult lift tickets are just $49.
  • Location
    Bridger Bowl is located just northeast of Bozeman.

Red Lodge Resorts

Red Lodge Mountain Resort
MRed Lodge continues to be the place to enjoy an un-crowded, relaxed ski experience.

  • Season
    Last of November to the first part of April
  • Price Range
    Tickets are $50 for adult full day.
  • Location
    The main roadway between Yellowstone National Park and Red Lodge over Beartooth Pass is closed in the winter. To get between the two in the winter, it is necessary to travel from the northwest entrance of the Park. The distance from the northwest entrance of the Park and Red Lodge is 250 miles.

Cross Country Skiing

Yellowstone National Park is an ideal winter destination for cross country skiing. You can rent skis at the Bear Den in either Mammoth Hot Springs or Old Faithful (accessible by snowcoach or snowmobile tour).
