West Yellowstone's legendary fly fishing outfitter since 1950, we're experts on all Park waters like the Madison, Firehole, Yellowstone, Gibbon, Slough Creek and Lamar River.

It flows for a short distance until it reaches Wolf Lake. Below Wolf Lake, the Gibbon River twists and turns through very beautiful and varied country before it meets with the Firehole River at the beginning of the Madison River.

The upper section of Gibbon River has very difficult access, involving trekking through thick forests that have lots of downed timber. The fish, usually brook trout, cutthroat trout and grayling are all on the small side, rarely exceeding 10 inches. The lower Gibbon river has mcuch better fishing.
