You are cordially invited to celebrate Bryce Canyon's thrilling Night Life! Check your calendar and join us for these uniquely-Bryce experiences. During full moons, (2-3 consecutive nights each month), when the mix of shadows and moonlight cause the hoodoos to take on spooky personalities, we offer 1-2 mile-long moonlit hikes. These hikes descend down into the canyon along steep and rocky trails. Due to the nature of this special activity all participants must agree to the following rules PRIOR to receiving tickets.

RULES: Attendance is capped at 30 people per hike. (25 for snowshoe hikes when offered). During Summer we usually offer 2 concurrent hikes each night.Children under age 6 are not permitted.Hiking boots or hiking shoes (lug soles) are required. HAVE YOUR LUG TRACTION FOOTWEAR PRESENT when seeking ticket(s)Flashlights, headlamps are not allowed. Flash photography may be permitted under key restrictions.Bring drinking water and jacket (evenings are cool).Due to steep and rocky trails this activity is not wheelchair accessible. NOTE: Tickets are required for full-moon hikes and are FREE, but ONLY distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Sign-up begins at 8:00 a.m. at the visitor center (line starts forming at 7:00 a.m.) on the morning of the scheduled hike. HIKES USUALLY FILL UP WITHIN THE FIRST HOUR OF SIGN UP! ABSOLUTELY NO ADVANCE RESERVATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED! For groups of people, tickets will only be given out if the entire group arrives in person so that each group member receives their own ticket. EXCEPTION: One parent may sign up his or her spouse and their non-emancipated children (kids who get to sleep in are more enjoyable during the hike than those that have to get up early to stand in line). :-)

2012 Full Moon Hike Schedule:

We would love to offer these programs more than 2-3 times a month but unfortunately, as the name of the activity implies, we don't have that kind of control.... over Moon, Earth, & Sun. :-). Please check at the visitor center for up-to-date information.

Starting locations and routes are not announced in advance, but are made known to ticket holders.
